Get back on TRACT!

Good morning folks.

What is the purpose of my blog?  It depends on the post.  I don't want it just to be a whine session or complaining how the world is going to hell.  I believe God has shown me a lot of where we lost our way the past 100 years -- addressed in earlier posts, for example, Shortcuts to Salvation, Romans Road is from the Bible -- but is it Biblical?, Jesus is not a flu shot.

Bottom line, instead of convincing of the disease via the Law (the Bible says The Law of the Lord is perfect converting the Soul, and Paul said, How can I know Sin but by the Law). we tend today to emphasize the benefits of the cure (bribe them with Heaven) or use scare tactics (Hell).  But if someone is unconvinced of the disease they will "try Jesus" with a just in case flu shot attitude that produces an "I already did that" when confronted with the true gospel of faith and repentance.  Just as a flu shot exposes you to a counterfeit version of the real thing so your body automatically fights off the real version when exposed, if someone simply "prayed the prayer" yet is sill unregenerate. they are inoculated to the real gospel.  They defensively say, "I don't need your message! I have my vaccine card that says I prayed the prayer July 23rd, 2007 at 3:05 pm.  I am all set!"

My message is 1) for church leaders, soul winners, etc first.  Then 2) for us all to get involved with the right gospel, and give it out knowing there is a cost and knowing it is worth it.  It is a plea to not get hoodwinked by big numbers or big crowds.  That is new evangelical Rick Warren thinking.  It is a plea to not protect the "untouchables" in one's circles because they built a great following or big crowd.  Joel Olsteen fills a stadium because he doesn't step on toes and the glow from his smile blinds the minds of anyone who listens to him.  That does not mean he is right.  The majority is never right.  If everyone sees it one way, watch out. If everyone is going one direction and doesn't see anything wrong with it, beware.

Today we have to really look back 100 years or more to think right.  We have lost our way.  Today we get more of the world on us just by going through WalMart than the men of old got all year.  To see the true fruit of our techniques and Christianity today we have to look at the world and country as a whole.  Our overall direction is bad, and Christians have some of the same rotten fruit as the world, but worse because you add hypocrisy, self righteousness, righteous indignation, and lack of compassion. If we truly believe the bible, those lost end up destined for the lake of fire, yet we don't care enough to get involved or warn them.  Only 53% of Pastors share their faith it showed in a recent study.  Only 2% of Christians in general share their faith.  Sodomites push their lifestyle 24 7, Muslims live their religion 24 7.  Yet we are saved and satisfied to sit.  We must see this is unacceptable and determine to do something about it.

It is not easy.  I had been forced out of my professional jobs 3 times because of my beliefs.  I worked overnights and no one was in the store yet the upfront night manager turned me in for listening to preaching and Christian music  I have been censored, fired, shut up, discriminated against.  All because I don't want people to go to Hell.  Yet is my attitude one of Christ, Father forgive them they know not what they do?  No, it is more, "I can't wait to see you again on judgment day.  You will see then! Ha Ha Ha!"   I see cars in line at the drive thru at Tim Hortons and sometimes I go to them and give them tracts.  Other times I listen to my fears and chicken out.  I don't have it down and I can't compare to the worst Christian during the Great Awakening.  There is too much world in me and too much world on me to really have the same Christianity of years ago.  But I want that.  I so much long to have that kind of Christianity.

The cost is self denial, sacrifice, surrender and a willingness to be persecuted.  Wonder why we aren't as willing today?  Especially when you have a modern gospel that says Christianity is just fun fun fun all the time and sharing your faith is old fashioned!

I don't want to just write about being on the battle.  I find that being on the battle, out there where lost sinners are is where Christianity becomes real.  To just keep it at church will not get the job done---- but worse it will just puff you up in the process.

Don't settle for any form of Churchianity.  Live, breathe and die practicing CHRISTianity.  Christ came to seek and save that which is lost.  We need to get off the computer (note to self), get off the pew, turn off the IPODS and TV's, and put away our cellphones for a month, and get back on track.  I will in the next post address some TRACT tips I found.

Grab a bible, and a handful of tracts and go find a lost sinner today!  I promise I will do the same!
